Central American migrants who spent weeks traveling through Mexico in caravans are turning back at the US border.
Reuters reports migrants have been met with much resistance at the border from the US government. Some have hopped the border fence, directly into the hands of immigration authorities.
Others currently have temporary lodgings in Tijuana for the long process of seeking asylum from the US.One migrant from El Salvador said, “Getting asylum is really difficult. They ask you for a lot of evidence and it’s impossible. It’s not like they say it is.”
