(CNSNews.com) – Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D.-Mich.), who along with Rep. Ilhan Omar (D.-Minn.), is one of the first two Muslim women elected to the U.S. Congress, told the New York Times in August that her “Allah is She.”
Tlaib also told the Detroit Free Press in September that she believes Allah is a woman.
“‘Today I was being thankful, embracing how incredibly blessed I am to grow up here, to have this tremendous opportunity,” said Ms. Tlaib, who usually attends prayers for holidays. ‘Sometimes I say, “Thank her,” because my Allah is She.’”
Here is an excerpt from the profile of Rashida Tlaib that the Detroit Free press published on Sept. 9, 2018:
“She acknowledges that, for some in her faith community, she’s not ‘Muslim enough,’ though she says she believes Allah–whom she believes is a woman if anything–understands. ‘As long as she knows that I am, um … giving back and doing things that I think are reflective of Islam …’ she said.”
