Former San Francisco Mayor Admits to AFFAIR With Kamala Harris; Boosting Her Political Career

A long standing theory that many on the left have said to be a right wing conspiracy was proven true on Saturday when Willie Brown, the former Mayor of San Francisco admitted to having a previous relationship with California Democratic Sen. Kamala Harris in his weekly column for the San Francisco Chronicle.

In the article Harris also indicated that he used his political clout to boost Harris’ career while they were dating.

“Sure, I dated Kamala Harris. So what?” he wrote Saturday.

Admitting to the extra marital affair, “Yes, we dated,” Brown wrote. “It was more than 20 years ago. Yes, I may have influenced her career by appointing her to two state commissions when I was Assembly speaker.

“And I certainly helped with her first race for district attorney in San Francisco,” he added.

Previously questions were dodged in relation to Brown helping Harris’ political career.

According to The Blaze, Brown appointed Harris to the Unemployment Insurance Appeals Board and the California Medical Assistance Commission. The two positions reportedly earned her more than $400,000 over five years.

Brown seems to show concern about whether Harris can translate the “buzz” about her into voter turnout though.

“California Sen. Kamala Harris is riding a buzz wave the likes of which we haven’t seen in years,” Brown wrote. “The question is whether she can turn the buzz into a solid political operation.”

Like it or not Harris has demonstrated that she is willing to do anything to advance her political career.

The recent revelations from the former Mayor do pose some ethical questions in regards to his appointments of Harris, something the state of CA may end up looking at.
