During a Time 100 event earlier today while bragging about the Dem majority in the U.S. House, Pelosi provided cues and ordered the crowd to applaud.
“I, myself, am focused on winning the House for the Democrats,” Pelosi said, “and I intend to have that accomplished by this year.”
The American Mirror noted that she has previously said she will win next year’s election This November.
“I, uh, we have— with, with the— in a very gerrymandered, voter suppressed arena we won 40 s— we net-gained 40 seats in the last election, that was remarkable.
“We have over 60-some, uh, 65 new members of Congress. They’re fantastic, beautifully diverse. Our caucus is 60 percent women, people of color, LGBTQ. That is an applause line!” she said, pointing at the audience.
After some awkward silence, the crowd came through.
Earlier this year, Pelosi told a roomful of mayors when to clap for her as well.
After claiming Democrats support “strong border security initiatives,” she said, “Do you want to— let’s hear it for border security!” as she held her hand up to call for a response.
Moments later, she called for applause from the bipartisan group for the Democrat majority in the House.
“The American people elected a House majority that would— that’s an applause line! Not for everybody maybe,” she said.
