(CNSNews.com) – Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D.-Mich.), the newly elected congresswoman who last week called President Donald Trump a “motherf****r,” said in 2012 when she was serving in the Michigan state house that men should find somebody other than women to have sex with and that women should boycott men in retaliation for an abortion-restriction bill that passed the state house.
“I am disappointed, Mr. Speaker, that we are launching a war on women today while doing nothing to launch a war on poverty,” she said.
“In that case, stop having sex with us, gentlemen, find somebody else to do it with,” she said, according to the Rachel Maddow show on MSNBC.
“Seriously, I ask women to call Michigan to boycott men until these bills stop moving out of the House,” Tlaib said. “Oppose this bill for the love of your wives, for the love of your daughters and for the love of mothers.”
A June 14, 2012 story in the Detroit Free Press described the bill Tlaib was reacting to and quoted part of her statement:
“All 64 Republicans and six Democrats in the state House joined forces Wednesday to approve sweeping new restrictions on abortion.
