Michigan Republican leaders and U.S. Rep. Justin Amash (I-Grand Rapids) are criticizing Gov. Gretchen Whitmer for her latest stay at home order. On Thursday, Whitmer extended the shelter-in-place for Michiganders until May 1. Additionally, Governor Whither is trying to destroy Michigan’s economy, her taxes on gasoline will harm tourism.
The Petition Read:
Recall Governor Whitmer. Her failure’s during the Virus is causing more Michiganders to get sick. Closing and banning various non-essential businesses and activities while leaving others open. Further promoting the pandemic. She has lied since day one with her #Fixthedamnroads which she has failed to do anything in this regard. The response to #PFAS was negligence and completely removing funding for #PureMichigan clearly shows her lack of anything positive for the State of Michigan.
Michigan’s Republican Speaker of the House Lee Chatfield has called Whitmer’s latest order the “wrong call” and “bad for Michigan families.” He cited locally-owned businesses that have shuttered due to the order.
The governor’s extended Stay-at-Home order is the wrong call and is bad for Michigan families. We had a chance today to protect public health and take a positive step towards recovery. Unfortunately, rather than focus on what’s safe, the governor decided again who is “essential.”
