MSNBC’s own Lawrence O’Donnell tried to back peddle his way out of reporting fake news about President Trump colluding with Russian oligarchs, by ‘apologizing’ on-air Thursday night.
Interestingly, O’Donnell is known for pushing fake Trump-Russia conspiracy theories with his MSNBC colleague, Rachael Maddow. For over two years, MSNBC hosts have claimed that Trump colluded with Moscow to undermine the 2016 election.

After the on-air apology, Eric Trump told O’Donnell: “it’s too late.” Eric Trump warned O’Donnell that he will face legal action over the unhinged slur. O’Donnell essentially said what he had to say to avoid legal consequences. On Thursday’s show, O’Donnell said “I should not have said it on-air or posted it on Twitter. I was wrong to do so.”
“Last night on this show, I discussed information that wasn’t ready for reporting. I repeated statements a single source told me about the president’s finances and loan documents with Deutsche Bank saying ‘if true’ as I discussed the information – was simply not good enough,” O’Donnell claimed.
Moreover, O’Donnell added: “I did not go through the rigorous verification and standards process here at MSNBC before repeating what I heard from my source. Had it gone through that process, I would not have been permitted to report it. I should not have said it on-air or posted it on Twitter. I was wrong to do so.”
Both O’Donnell and Maddow have apologized in the past, and then they go right back to spreading conspiracy theories to bash the president. The problem is the damage had already been done.
MSNBC and CNN have become the anti-Trump media. Their ratings have been in a steady decline since the Mueller report was released and Robert Mueller’s testimony before Congress back in July.
With tanking views, it is a wonder that anyone still watches the networks. Following close behind is the New York Times. They were recently caught pushing the “Trump is a racist,” narrative.
Now that the Russian narrative has been proven to be a Hoax, the @nytimes is moving onto their next narrative pushing the “President Trump is a racist” narrative. They know it is a lie but will push it anyway.https://t.co/yJkU7ZMhhP

Since the Russia hoax was proven false, the left has nothing else to fall back on.
