President Donald Trump and Democratic leaders failed to compromise to end the government shutdown on Friday.
The president and Democrats argued over the $5 billion that Trump has requested to build a wall on the Mexican border.
Vice President Mike Pence and congressional staffers are scheduled to meet this weekend to further discuss a deal.
“We had a very, very productive meeting, and we’ve come a long way,” Trump said. Trump said he might declare a national emergency to have the wall built.
